Not enough storage?

I’m confused on how my phone still says I don’t have enough storage. It says 63.4 GB used out of 64 GB. I’ve deleted MANY photos and videos, more than half of my gallery, and deleted several apps and it’s still saying that photos take up about 40 GB.

Did you empty the contents of the recently deleted folder? If not, the photos are still there taking up space. They do not automatically delete for 30 days.
