Disable notification for two-factor authentification?

I really don't want the 2FA. I've tried it but it just adds frustration. Luckily I've been able to dodge it, but now MacOS has started harrassing me about installing 2FA with a red badge on the System Preferences app icon. Is there a way to remove the badge? It's not possible in the Notificatons section of System Prefs, where I can disable all other app's badges.

Apple, if you're monitoring this: I'll be happy to switch to 2FA when you have designed a fully functional version that doesn't obstruct my workflow. Until then – no thanks, and stop bugging me about it.

I don't think you will be able to remove the badge. There was a time when I didn't want to add two-factor authentication, but i finally did so. Now, I think it is good, and I appreciate the added security. But, my situation is relatively simple. See if you can learn ignore the badge, and be safe.
