Microsoft Word ribbon toolbar on MacBook Air does not respond

I have Microsoft Word installed via a license on my macbook air. IO can open and save a document but other than basic formatting cannot use any of the options on the ribbon -- e.g. line spacing, changing margins, changing text color, find and replace. How can I get all the functions on word to work?

paragraph marks will not disappear in Word Greetings knowledgeable people, I cannot make the paragraph marks (pilcrow) disappear in my word documents. I am well versed in using the hide/show button for these marks in the standard Home ribbon. Clicking the button does nothing to the visibility of the marks (see below) when it always has before. Closing and restarting does not change anything. OS Catalina on a networked macbook, using MS Word in Office 365 All help appreciated . .

Touch bar not working with Microsoft Word or other softwares I have a Macbook Pro M1 chip (2020). I always use Microsoft Word for school, and Word tools like font, colors, formatting, etc would appear on my touchbar making it super easy to change colors or highlight or use bullet points. It randomly stopped appearing, and I tried restarting my computer & updating to the new software. Nothing is working. My touchbar now only works with volume and brightness, but it's no longer adaptable to whatever app I use or site I'm on. please help!
