Boot Camp support for connecting AirPods as headset

I can't connect my AirPods as a headset on Windows 10 running on a MacBook Pro. Will the Boot Camp drivers be updated to support this?

If this is already supported, does anyone know how to get it to work?

Just wanted to chime in and say that I also have this problem. My particular setup is a late 2019 16" MacBook Pro and Airpods Pro. I can't get my Airpods to be recognized as a headset and thus be able to use the microphone in boot camp with this machine. I'm on the latest version of Windows 10 (1909). Interestingly the Airpods Pro seem to work as a headset with any other Windows 10 device. However, when you select the airpods as a headset the audio output sound quality becomes really terrible (sounds like a low quality phone call). I have never had the chance to try any other bluetooth headset with Windows before so maybe this is a windows thing, but I would imagine that any other bluetooth headset that is Windows compatible wouldn't sound so bad when it's in headset mode.
