FCPX Sound effects have no items in it

Looks OK.

Try resetting the FCP X Preferences.

Hold Option-Command as you launch FCP X.

A reboot would not hurt as well.

What OS version and software version are you using? Does FCP have full disk access assigned in Privacy preferences?

I was able to solve the problem, but not the easy way. The answer is re-install Mac OS.

So, I backup my Macbook Pro, then reinstall Mac OS Catalina (latest version), I choose not to wipe my drive. The process went smoothly.

After reinstallation, everything stays intact (I don't required to restore my backup, but better safe than sorry), all my files are there, but everything seems smoother, and all the sound effects in the panel are now visible.

I wonder if you have been using "cleanmymac" on your mac. This hideous program has been known to cause trouble like this by aggressively deleting files that it should leave alone. If you did, completely uninstall and never let it or any "cleaner" into your mac.

What does the FCP X Sound Effects folder say regarding permissions:

Did you click the popup in the upper right that says No Items?

Did you allow some time for them to load and then checked again?

I also have the same problem, I tried deleting pref, tried, reset NVME RAM, tried uninstalling FCPX and re-install no luck. It's rather strange. Probably some bugs with Mac OS 10.15.4 as those who are in version 10.15.3 this doesn't happen.

Some recommend to re-install Mac OS from scratch, this is the only option I've not tried. If I happen to have free time, I may do so. Can you try doing this option?

Did you download additional content in this system?

What do you see in FCP Sounds Effects browser area. Post a screenshot. There is a pup in the upper right that you can try.

I cannot see anything that stands out.

Were any updates to your system added recently?

It is possible you have altered the name Final Cut Pro Sound Effects in any way, like an extra space at the end??

Other than that I have no idea.

Yes, downloaded additional content, the downloaded contents are also there in /Library/Audio/Apple Loops/Apple/Final Cut Pro Sound Effects/

But they didn't show up on FCPX Sound Effects Panel

I have been using the Sound Effects previously. The last time I used was December 2019, after that my projects doesn't require their uses. Just this week, when I want to use those sound effects, and I check and discovered they are missing.

Hello, I'm not sure if I am supposed to enter a new post for this, but I have exactly all the same issues that the author of this thread has, except I am running Mojave v10.14.6 I do not want to upgrade to Catalina because my audio interface will no longer work with my MacBook Pro. This is a very frustrating problem. I have tried a clean install of FCPX and I have followed the steps in this thread but I still do not have access to sound effects in FCPX. If anyone has any further info on this subject other than needing to completely reinstall the OS I would appreciative. It was working at some point but seems to have stopped working during some update. Thank you.
