Hello all, I have an iPad Pro and a 2017 Macbook Air. Since the Pro does not have USB capabilities, I bought a port from Amazon. Now for whatever reason, my Macbook does not recognize my iPad. How do I fix this? I apologize if this is an obvious fix.

You don’t require any kind of adapter to connect your iPad to your PC or Mac other than, depending upon your iPad model, either a standard Lightning to USB cable (for iPads with a Lightning port) or USB-C to USB cable (for iPad Pro models with a USB-C port).
What version of OS and iTunes do you have on the computer?
What are you trying to connect them for? What kind of port are you referring to?
I want to connect them so I can back up the iPad to my computer. I’m using a port that allows me to connect the iPad charger to the usb (the iPad Pro comes with the new lightening connection)
When I connect to the computer iTunes does not open up, it’s as if nothing is connected. I can’t select trust on my iPad, nothing
