What is the app called Automator?

What is the app called Automator? I have it on my MacBook Pro 13-Inch, and I wanted to know if its important, what it does, and if not needed am I able to/How can I delete it?

Click here for information. It's an OS component and not removable.

Read about Automator here: Automator User Guide

It's an integral macOS application so it cannot be deleted. You certainly don't have to use it.
