iOS 13.4.1 battery drain
I have updated my iPad mini 2019 two days ago and battery is practically worst ever. By browsing only drops 1% per minute. Anyone experiencing same problem?

Yes, turning it OFF and ON again is a basic trouble shooting step most people know about,
and no it did NOT fix the issue. Battery drain is still a problem on my iPad.
I updated my iPhone XS Max and it does not exhibit the same problem.
Both devices were charged at the same time overnight and used about the same amount of time today:
for the last 18 months the battery performance has always been within 5% over a 24 hour period.
FYI: I have a degree in Applied Computing and one in Computer Science and have worked as a computer engineer and QA
specialist for over 20 years, I know when a OS or firmware update changes the operation of a device and Apple has missed something this time around, please be up upfront and just admit an error was made and fix it.
Thanks,
Alf.
I contacted Apple for the 2nd Time. They talked me through an entire reset process. Did that and still not charging! I’m beyond furious and want my money back or a new replacement. Can’t even go to an Apple store to get this sorted!
Turning off MAJOR features like Siri or even BLUETOOTH? is not a solution to this issue. I have AirPods and my Apple Watch connected to my iPhone -- not turning off Bluetooth. I've used Siri since she came out.
I have reported.
The bluetooth (yes yes yes from Settings and not ”Control Center) trick, the Siri... etc etc.
Didn’t do anything to my battery usage... still dropping 30-40% during my sleep.
The only thing that made it use 2-3% was airplane mode (control center). But yes that’s fine for sleep, but not during daytime...
I’m installing 13.5 beta and crossing fingers they have “sorted it”
It is not a trick. When you turn it off from Settings, the Bluetooth radio is completely disabled. But when you turn it off from the Control Center, it only disconnects all devices, but leaves the Bluetooth radio ON. There is a real difference on how iOS handles the user input.
Only Apple knows why they implemented it that way.

I think only the older devices (iPhone 7 and before) are having the battery drain problem after 13.4.1 update. Someone with the new iPhone SE also complained about the same problem. But apart from that, don’t remember seeing anyone with iPhone 8 and newer devices complain about this.
Same is happening with my iPhone 8. I tried all fixes, I Reset all my settings, I did a factory reset and DFU Restore on my device. I turned of Background App Refresh and Location Services. I turned of Siri. Earlier I used to get a full day usage after fully charging the device. But now it works for 4-5 hours (light usage) before touching 10%. And if I use heavy apps like YouTube or Instagram it drops by 2 percent a minute. This has started after updating to iOS 13.3 and has drastically worsened after updating to iOS 13.4.1. My battery health is at 88%. Maybe Apple wants us to upgrade to newer iPhones 🤷🏻. I hope they release a fix in the next update.
ayyan, I have a XS Max and it's doing the same after the update. I read another post where iPhone 11 users are having the same issue. It's a bug.
There is no fix until Apple decides it's a bug and patches it.
You've already done above and beyond anything you should ever have to do (such as restoring from DFU mode). But when a bug like this occurs after and only after updating to a new version of iOS, it's clearly a bug and all of these "fixes" people who think they know what they are talking about give will do nothing. When there is an isolated issue with someone's phone, restoring/resetting, etc. can be a good way to troubleshoot... but when thousands of people have confirmed they have this issue with 13.4.1, it's a bug that needs to be patched. No ifs, ands, or buts.
So far the latest public BETA of 13.5 does NOT solve our battery drainage.
Best thing is to do as the other guy posted above/earlier (with direct link) suggested and report to Apple.
There is still hope, but I don’t see it fixed by 13.5 (Final/Release) as it’s not everyone whos affected (Wish it was).
I have had serious battery drain on iPhone X and iPad 10.5. On both I did as suggested by one post, turned off Bluetooth in SETTINGS (NOT Control panel.) This has substantially slowed drain, now more like it was prior to 13.4.1. Obviously not a happy fix but until Apple addresses, good workaround for me. Battery usage report doesn’t really tell you what is going on, there’s background power consumption that is related to Bluetooth. BTW my configuration was unchanged moving to this release so those who suggest all the normal power reduction tips are wasting your time. There may be other things needing to be fixed but for me main culprit = Bluetooth.
Turning off Bluetooth entirely through the Settings app did absolutely nothing for me.
Also, disabling a major system function that has been present in the iPhone since the original version in 2007 (13 years ago) is not a bug fix.
What exactly do you expect from a user community? An actual bug fix?
Everyone knows this is a bug and some of us have sent a feedback. But until Apple rolls out an update with the required fixes, one has to live with workarounds.
Turning OFF Bluetooth from Settings helped with the battery drain problem for a few users, including myself. My battery graph is consistently flat during sleep, and the only thing I do is turn OFF Bluetooth from Settings. Rest everything stays ON for me as usual.
Apple does monitor these forums despite popular belief. I know that because I have been specifically contacted by AppleCare about the infamous ANC bug for the AirPods Pro and they reached out to me "because of posts you made in the Apple Communities".
Further, gathering information from other users and then urging them to contact Apple Support AND send feedback about the bug report is essential in getting this resolved. The more reports they have, the faster there will be a fix.
Yes, they do even if they insist that we use the feedback link for reporting problems.
But your comments are kind of implying that the workarounds are not working. The fact is they are working for some, and everyone is aware that this is a temporary solution that is far from perfect (and undesirable) until Apple rolls out an update addressing these issues.
I'm using the iPhone 7 with iOS 13.4.1. Have now deactivated all I can and the battery drain still exists. Have reported the problem. The phone is useless as is, it will be empty in an emergency (hospital). Am no expert, but I seriously wonder whether this is in connection with the recently announced modifications to assist Covid-19 contact tracing.
I posted earlier in this thread, as my iPhone 11Pro was draining like a toilet, telling me Siri was to blame even when Siri was turned off completely. I had even talked Apple into giving me a new phone on the assumption that something was wrong with the battery, which shows how clueless the were about the problem with their own software. The new phone, restored from an iCloud backup of the old one, was just as bad. Apple couldn't help me beyond sending me a new phone, so I bit the bullet and reset the phone to factory and installed only the apps I needed to get through the day. Everything's been fine with the battery since then, and I have added many apps. I never figured out what the original problem was; what I did learn was that I had accumulated a whole lot of apps I didn't need. My iPad has the update and never experience any problem at all.
Wish I had some great insight to share, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
