iOS 13.4.1 battery drain
I have updated my iPad mini 2019 two days ago and battery is practically worst ever. By browsing only drops 1% per minute. Anyone experiencing same problem?

Yes, turning it OFF and ON again is a basic trouble shooting step most people know about,
and no it did NOT fix the issue. Battery drain is still a problem on my iPad.
I updated my iPhone XS Max and it does not exhibit the same problem.
Both devices were charged at the same time overnight and used about the same amount of time today:
for the last 18 months the battery performance has always been within 5% over a 24 hour period.
FYI: I have a degree in Applied Computing and one in Computer Science and have worked as a computer engineer and QA
specialist for over 20 years, I know when a OS or firmware update changes the operation of a device and Apple has missed something this time around, please be up upfront and just admit an error was made and fix it.
Thanks,
Alf.
I think I may have isolated the problem at least for some iPhone models. This is only day one though.
Another poster commented about an issue with a SIM card and LTE which didn't make much sense to me except that if 13.4.1/13.5 contained a modem issue that was draining battery.
I had VoLTE (Voice over LTE) turned OFF but it seems that iOS 13's new menu system turned this back on. Turning VoLTE Off (Settings > Cellular Data Options > Voice & Data > LTE, VoLTE Off) seems to have improved the battery today although I have not used the device as much today. However, I am not seeing the dramatic IDLE battery loss as I was before.
It may be a starting point so please try turning VoLTE off and reporting your findings to all of us. If we find that this is the issue maybe we can submit a more detailed bug report. (For iPhones or perhaps iPads that have an LTE modem -- which would require LTE off entirely if this was the same problem)...
So, I have two suggestions:
Turn off VoLTE if you have the option. See how the device operates over the next 24 hours.
If you have an iPad/don't have a VoLTE option, turn off LTE and see how the device operates over the next 24 hours.
Let us know if this solves anything at all and then we may find the source of this bug.
After two weeks from the update it all came back to “normal”. Usual drain from battery. It was perfect.
When i put the wi-fi off,no Facebook, only mail, whatsapp and switched to low-battery, the drain was 1% per hour.
Now, since 3 days, i have a drain of 10% per hour. Doing nothing. I checked all settings, all apps, all notification, all gps privacy...nothing was changed. Only the battery is going down very fast. I’m desperate:(
I have seen no improvement in the battery drain since this 13.4.1 . It's dreadful i have to charge my phone at least twice a day since this download and I used to do it every other day before this. Also the phone gets really hot when I use some apps and facetime. Apple dont seem to be interested in acknowledging there is an issue or improving this and I am serously considering changing to Android when my contract expires. I dont feel I can rely on my Apple iphone X anymore.
Yeap. I am done with Apple.
Went to the Apple Store and was talked to and treated like an animal (minus one kind Korean female staff member who was empathetic).
The GM (Aussie guy) at the Seoul Flagship store accused me of lying (implicitly) and finally threw me over the edge to switch to Samsung (where I not only received great customer service but also a bunch of free perks and free gifts).
Shiny new S20 Ultra with 5G and an AMOLED and battery bigger than my face.
My gf sold my iPhone for me today.
13 years of loyal Apple customer -- OVER. AND OUT.
That was the only proper fix for this problem for me!
If "some apps" cause the phone to heat up, you're being given a clue. Even if you need them, delete those apps at least long enough to see if their absence improves the situation. I finally got rid of the problem, but it was a very "scientific method" process.
look at Siri usage %....that’s with it turned off everywhere. It’s gone as high as 56%
Just adding to the already long thread.
My brand new iPhone SE (2nd Gen) draining 30-40% during sleep (8 hours).
This is the activity through the night:
Bad news. After updating to 13.5 beta - nothing has changed.
I’m loving my brand new iphone SE 2nd Gen.... my old iphone se just didn’t hold battery very well. Well nice surprise with the new phone pictured batterylife below...
I have exactly the same issue with an iPad Air 2, battery life is rubbish, gone from almost 2 days adhoc use to 3-4 hours.
Who does the QA, the customer?
Yes. I am on iPad Air 2. After charging to 100% and the battery is 15% only next day.
Have you tried my advice above your post?
Like other suggested, reset the apps and settings seems prudent. I have an iPad Pro 12.9 and it does not have problems and sitting unused for days does not drain it hardly at all.
Ok . . . not really helpful though
