Disabled iPhone and iCloud

Hi! I have an Issue my iPhone was Disabled and I forgot my iCloud password, If I Update and Restore my iPhone will it remove my previous iCloud account that is binded on my iPhone?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 12

No. Use Apple's iForgot service, or contact their Account Security team, or if you’re the iPhone’s original owner, supply Apple with its purchase receipt and ask them to remove the lock.


SravanKrA: Someone having forgotten their Apple ID details isn't the same as it being locked to someone else's Apple ID.

If you are not the owner then there is no way that you can get into this iPhone unless the original owner shares the Apple ID and password with you. If you are lucky you can get into this iPhone if they (owner) accidentally remove the device from their apple ID.


If you are the owner then to open Activation Lock:- If it is Activation locked, read here --> Turn off Activation Lock - Apple Support Activation Lock for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
