Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT

Looks like no one’s replied in a while. To start the conversation again, simply ask a new question.

Bought itunes match - "Genius results can’t be updated because the iTunes Store doesn’t recognize your iTunes library. I get the error message-> Genius results can’t be updated because the iTunes Store doesn’t recognize your iTunes library

The directions are to "Please choose File > Library > Turn Off Genius to turn off Genius, then turn it back on."


There are no toggling options under Muisc > File > Library.


I tried signing in and out - no help.


Not helpful.

Here's the undocumented fix:



1 Open Music


2 Sign out - Menu Account > Signout


3 Quit Music


4 Go to your iTunes folder - Finder > Go > Home > Music > iTunes


5 Move the file “iTunes Library Genius.itdb” to the desktop


6 Open Muisc


7 sign back into your account


8 try Music > Library > Update Genius


9 If there is no error, move the “iTunes Library Genius.itdb” file to the trash
