Error with file's name downloaded with Safari

I have a problem with file's name downloaded with Safari. When I download files, the file's name is not correct. Safari reports "%20" instead of "space" in the file's name. I.E.: if I download a file named "Apple discussion" attached in my email, in the download folder I will find the file with this name "Apple%20discussion".

Can someone help me?

Thanks

Helo tommaso131 and welcome to Apple Support Communities.

I see you have a concern about the characters "%20" in filenames of some downloaded files where you expect to see a space.

This is largely going to be an issue of the provenance of the file you are downloading. In most non-Mac systems, spaces are not allowed in file names. So "%20" is basically code indicating that a space was there.

If you are downloading a large number of files and manually changing the "%20" to a space is not an option, some users have turned to the native macOS tool called Automator to automate the process.
