How do I know if my USB C port is connected to the logic board?

How do I know if my USB C port is connected to the logic board or not? It's an early 2016 Retina MacBook. It doesn't "power up" via the green light or sound.

I checked the cords on my Mac mini and all work fine. So I know it's an internal problem with the USB - C port.

I need to get it repaired, but Apple quoted my (near) $600 for entire repair. I could get a new All-In-One PC for less than that at Best Buy.

Any way to find out if the internal USB-C port in connected to mother board or not?

MacBook, macOS 10.14

Hello,

There is no definite way to know if the port is connected to the main Logic board unless you open the device, this can void your warranty. Try charging with the effected port, or do a transfer of data between the MacBook and a USB flash drive. Try a software update too.

Hope this helped.
