Well, I’m a senior and I do no what a VPN is. But if you have it enabled it will say “VPN” in the status bar when you open the Control Center by dragging down from the upper right corner of the screen, so my guess is you don’t.
Do you have a Wi-Fi “fan” displayed in that status bar, or does it just say 3G?
If you are not connected to Wi-Fi (no “fan”) then check with your carrier for a network outage, or check this crowd-sourced site—>https://downdetector.com/
If you are connected to Wi-Fi try restarting your router by unplugging it for about 15 seconds.
Turn off VPN in Settings/General/VPN.
3G means that you are connected to your cellular provider’s network, so if it isn’t working there’s a good chance it is a network problem. That’s why I said to check with the carrier or use the link I posted to see if other users have reported problems with your cellular provider.
Are you using a VPN?
Is this a new problem, or has it never worked?
Actually, the VPN in the settings says VPN Connecting, but there is only a 3G, not a fan. I have tried shutting the router off, and then on of course, and also resetting the internet on my phone, resetting the phone itself. Try to connect 1 cm from the router.
I have a laptop, and an ipad that will connect and get the internet.
This is a new problem. Also, I am a senior, and do not know what a VPN is.
Thanks Lawrence, I will check with my provider.
