Software Installation

I have recently tried to install/update several things on my MacBook. These would be updating my printer software and trying to install an update for Steam. Both times it goes through all of the installation steps normally, but stops before it is done with the message in the picture. After that message is displayed the installation is stopped and will not progress any farther. I have to Force Quit the installers. Does any one know how to fix this? It is almost like it is trying to bring up the security settings but something is broken somewhere. Thanks for your help.
