Face Time

I am trying to Face Time with friends on my Mac and they are using their i Phones. How can they have me join in? They have tried inviting me using my email address and I have tried putting their phone numbers in FaceTime with no success. I can only FaceTime with one of them at a time but not as a group.

How can we resolve this?
