So i was deleting some files to clear up some more storage space and I went to empty the trash but I failed to realize that there were some files that I really need. I deleted them about 2 days ago and have tried desperately to get them back by downloading softwares such as stellar and disk drill but none of them seem to work. Is there any way to retrieve them?

Yeah yours has an SSD (flash storage). You can verify this by going to the Apple Menu and choosing "About this Mac". Choose the Storage tab and underneath the drive icon it should say "Flash Storage".

Usually disk recovery software "works" but none will perfectly recover your files. Did you do a Time Machine backup at all?
If you’re using SSD storage (and lack backups), the files are gone. SSD storage is erased when files are deleted.

How old is your Mac? I think since 2015 MacBooks have used only SSD's.

Alright that probably explains why nothing showed up on the disk drill except folders with a bunch of numbers and not my actual files I deleted. Thank you for the help
