copying all photos in an album to another album

I'd like to consolidate two photo files into one file. Is there a way to copy i.e. 50 jpgs at one time (without individually selecting each one)?

Are you asking about consolidating albums inside one library, consolidating libraries, or consolidating individual photo files?

Assuming you mean consolidating an album inside a library:

You can select all of the items in that album with the menu item Edit > Select All or the keystroke command-A.

You can select a number of contiguous items by selecting the first, then holding down the shift key while clicking on the last.

Most of the other usual multiple selection methods for Macs work inside Photos.
