VX3211-4K Monitor Not Always Getting Signal After Wake / Power On

I have a late 2018 Mac Mini connected to a ViewSonic VX3211-4K via HDMI cable. Occasionally when waking the computer from sleep or starting up from power off, the monitor will wake but several seconds later will display a "no signal detected" message and go back to sleep. I've switched HDMI cables before (currently using a high-speed cable w/ ethernet) but again, this problem only occurs occasionally. The only solution I've found is to boot into safe mode and then restart the system from there, which seems to work.

In the monitor settings I've disabled DDC/CI which seemed to delay the issue from recurring, but it does still happen about every one out of five attempts to wake the computer.

Mac mini 2018 or later
