I have a IPad 10.2 7th Generation unit, headphones were working and at some point while downloading apps headphones stopped working.
I tried some of the suggestions like turn Skype on, settings/music/volume- turn off.
No help, any other suggestions ?

Have you tried a simple hard reset of your iPad by holding down both the Home and sleep/wake buttons simultaneously until your iPad goes to black and restarts with Apple logo, then release the buttons?

but it turns out there was an updated available for my IPad. I updated it and that fixed it.
