Apple watch dead after update, will not pair, restore - Bricked

Iphone 10 running OS13. A few weeks ago I set my watch to update and it failed. Evere since then it has been stuck in service loop. The watch initally pairs with my phone, but no matter which option I choose it fails pairing. I have tried to update it and it says it's up to date with watch OS 5.3.6, any attempts to restore it from my back up in the app fails, any attempt to set up as a new watch again will eventually fail pairing. I have restaretd all devices multiple times, hard reset the watch several times with no luck. I just spent an hour on the phone with apple only to find out they want $350 cdn up front if I send it in, great customer service. So I'm left with a watch that is a brick due to some kind of glitch in the update. Phone is running 13.4.1. I beg apple not to post a link to the update issues page cause that will not work. Hoping for a solution from anyone else that may have had the same problem. Thanks.

Try this;

Press and hold both the side button and Digital Crown for about 10 seconds, then release both buttons when you see the Apple logo.Wait a few seconds, then hold down just the side button for about 20 seconds until the “erase all settings” prompt shows up on the screen, then tap on it, then tap on the green check button.

Then try pairing again.
