Starting this morning, I can no loner open any videos on YouTube. I can get to the place where one click starts the video but no further. Any ideas as to

I deserve such a smack.... Over the years I have used your solution countless times to bring my iMac back to operating condition. You'd think that would be enough to stamp this simplest and best of all remedies permanently on my mind, but oh, no, I keep forgetting the cure at my fingertips. In any event, thanks to you, my computer is now operating perfectly. You have my undying gratitude.

It was too good to be true. The "fix" lasted for only a day or two. I was able to "cure" the problem, as before, by restarting my computer, but that is not really a satisfactory remedy. However, maybe this clue will help. I restarted my Mac in SAFE mode. While in that mode, I am able to watch YouTube videos. There is no sound, but maybe there is not supposed to be sound in the SAFE mode. Anyway, is this helpful? What other steps can I take to be able to watch videos again?
