Receiving latest text messages

Check your iPhone settings:

Settings > Messages > Text Message Forwarding - explicitly enable your iPad in the device list.

Both you iPad and iPhone must also be logged-in to iCloud with the same AppleID. Enabling Messages in iCloud, for both iPad and iPhone, is also recommended:

Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > Messages - set to ON

Did you look for the setting on your iPhone? You won't find it on your iPad.
