Connecting Yeti Pro with MacBook

Hello!

So I recently bought a Blue Yeti Pro USB mic from someone to record voiceovers for my Youtube videos. I connected it to my 2012 MacBook Pro and began recording in Premier Pro. It picks up my voice, but it is choppy and cuts words out. I saw a video saying that you can only connect the Blue mics to USB 2 and that it is choppy because they don't work well with USB 3. My Mac only has USB 3 inputs, does anyone know if it's true that they don't work with USB 2 inputs (The information I found was from 2013), and if not, what else it might be? Also, if this is true, is there anyway I can use a converter or something so I'm still able to use my Yeti with my Mac? Thanks!
