iOS update

My IPhone 7plus has the 10.3.3 of iOS and I want to update it but I'm afraid to mess up my phone because it has an old version what can I do?

Unfortunately it has clearly been years since you updated software, if ever. You should always download and install Apple software updates as soon as they become available. Updates provide security enhancements, defect repair, and occasionally feature additions or enhancements.

Download and install this latest version now.

“Destroy”? Really? Might your iPhone go up in a puff of smoke? Highly unlikely.

What if it destroyed the whole phone? Some people told me that it can destroy the phone because it's too old

Make an encrypted backup before updating, and update with iTunes instead of OTA. It should cause less troubles when updating iOS with such a big difference (from personal exp).
