Deactivate Apple Watch

Hello,


I sold my Apple Watch 3 and the person who bought it is saying that it is requiring an activation lock from my Apple ID. I have removed it from my devices through icloud.com yet the purchaser is saying there is still an issue.

I had reset the watch before I mailed it to him. Is there something I am not doing?
