iTunes Home Sharing import error: The length received...

My iTunes library contains roughly 20GB of music. My wife uses Windows 7 and I'm running Snow Leopard. We set up Home Sharing and here's the problem:

We can see the libraries and the Home Sharing icons. We can play music from the other computer's library. However, we can only get about 12GB of music imported from my computer to her computer. There are about 1,700 songs that refuse to import all with the error message - "The length received from the server did not match the expected length."

We've restarted the computers, turned off Home Sharing and file sharing for both computers, restarted file sharing and Home Sharing, restarted the computers and those songs will still not import to her computer.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to fix this?

i'm having the same problem with home sharing of songs from my aluminum macbook, running itunes v9.2.1(4) in snow leopard v10.6.4, to my windows pc, running itunes v9.2.1.5 in windows xp professional sp3.
in my case the sharing has worked perfectly before and works fine with songs from the pc to the mac and songs from the mac that are already in the pc's library. so only songs not in the pc's library seem to be affected.

the error message tells me to check my internet connection, which also seems to working fine.
