Apps deactivate auto lock function

Some apps on my ipads don't auto lock if in use. A previous thread about this question stated that would be the case if the app uses a video function, but this is happening with my Kindle app which shouldn't have a video function.

I've tried the two things I saw suggested for troubleshooting: restarting and changing of the timing of the auto-lock function, with no success. Any other ideas?

Mostly I use this app on my iPad mini, but do use it on other devices as well.

If, when running, an App overrides the system auto-lock function, you’ll often find an App Setting that controls this feature. Dependent upon the App, this will either be an in-App setting - or might be found in your iPad Settings (where you will find that many Apps have a set of associated settings).

Otherwise, you may need to make enquiries of the relevant App Developer.
