Macbook Pro Slow Without Battery

Hey, guys!

A few days ago the battery of my Macbook Pro - End 2013, collapsed and does not work anymore, but it turns on and works "normally" since plugged in.

It turns out that, the performance of the notebook plummeted (A LOT) after that.

From what I researched there seems to be a relationship between: removed battery directly affects performance.

It seems that the original mac source is not powerful enough to keep the machine running at full load and when it happens it uses the power from the source and battery together, so when the battery is bad the SMC limits the performance of the machine so that it is not possible to achieve peak performance and thus avoid unexpected shutdown or crashes.

Some tutorials on the web have delete a plist file.

BUUUUUT when following such a path, the model of my mac does not appear there.

According to the System Information I have a MacbookPro11,1 and do not have this in the list of plist.

Could someone help me?

There's no chance for me to fix it the battery now (its really expensive in Brazil).

P.S Has already reset the SMC and yet the slowness remains

While an official Apple battery is the best and most reliable option, it is possible to have someone install a third party battery, but this is not an easy procedure since the battery is attached to the Top Case with very strong adhesive. It is very easy to damage the laptop when removing the battery. It is also a dangerous procedure if the battery is punctured during the process. Also the quality of third party Lithium-ion batteries is extremely poor which could leave you in the same situation or even worse if the battery begins to swell damaging the Trackpad and case.

The best source for a third party battery is OWC, but I don't know if this option is available in your location. While OWC batteries are the best chance to get a reliable third party battery I've gotten a lot of bad batteries from OWC over the years.

The 2013 MBPro is considered "Vintage", but you can still get an official Apple repair if the necessary part is still available. I'm not sure how much longer this option will be available. While expensive I believe it is your best option from my own personal experience with many third party Lithium-ion batteries over the years.

Unfortunately my notebook does not enter the battery replacement program, because it is the year 2013.

As I said, in Brazil the replacement battery exchange costs the equivalent of 500 dollars.

(In the midst of a crisis like the one we are facing, spending this amount would be unfeasible.)

I really wanted to know if I could improve the computer's performance.
