Can't Select Text to Copy and Paste

I understand you're no longer able to copy text in your web browser since updating to iOS 13.4.1. I'd like to see if I can help you out with this.

What exactly happens when you try to copy text? Do you see a menu appear with a Copy option, or does the menu not appear at all? Which web browser are you using? If you're using a web browser other than Safari, try copying text in Safari and see if you're able to past it. Try going to the following website on your iPhone and see if it will allow you to copy text there: Type and edit text on iPhone.

If you're using a third-party web browser, install any available updates for it: Update apps or use automatic downloads. Also, restart your iPhone: Restart your iPhone. Test out copying and pasting text afterwards.

Respond back if the issue persists.

I have done the same steps as you. I have the same phone as you and this has been verr e y frustrating. My daughter had iPhone X pro and she has no issues. I’m the same as you can copy comments but not original posts. Apple needs to fix this!

I agree it’s annoying and I need to do it daily as it’s part of my job . Literally woke up last week and it stopped working . Everything is up to date and I can’t find a solution anywhere other than to reset phone and reinstall the app. Nothing has worked . If I figure it out I’ll let ya know. I’m so close to throwing my phone at a wall

Well it’s most definitely an apple issue even though apple says it’s Facebook and Facebook says it’s an apple issue. Now that I think about the only place I have this problem is on Facebook so maybe it is Facebook. I wonder if it has to do with privacy settings? Let me know if you figure it out! Thanks

While this is true for Google Chrome and Safari, it won't work properly on Facebook app. It would only highlight the whole content instead, it would not allow me to only select partial of the content. It's super inconvenient.

Did you ever get a resolution to your issue. I have a similar problem after purchasing a new iPad Pro, however my issue seems to be mostly with copy/paste functionality in Facebook. Apple says it is a Facebook issue. I am waiting for a response, but was curious what you found.

Can't Select text to copy and paste in any app. When I try to select a word, the cursor jumps up to another line. I’m going nuts. This is on Safari, emails, messages, contacts etc. I have restarted my iPad Pro 12.9 3rd gen to no avail.

I have the same issue. I cannot highlight text in Contacts Notes or Notes so cannot copy and paste after this latest update. These are Apple products not 3rd party. Very frustrating because I used this a lot.

Not true. After update I have no longer been able to highlight text in Contacts Notes or Notes. The curser won’t line up with text and will not highlight the word so I cannot copy and paste. These are not 3rd party apps, they are apple. Very frustrating to lose this capability.

I called Apple and the copy and paste feature is really easier. Instead

of holding your finger over what you want to copy, you just double tap

it to highlight, then cut and paste as before.

Personally I don’t use Facebook. I find it to cause of wealth of issues, non of them positive.

Yep! The problem is on Facebook. I do not have the issue anywhere else. It’s just on fb. Won’t let me copy original posts. It will let me copy in the comments though. Really weird
