On Ipad messenger keypad covers the top addresses

Hi,

My iPad just started a bad habit. I am up-to-date on software releases. As of yesterday, when I need to type into messages, the keyboard has migrated to the top of the page so I can't see the user I am communicating with.

Prior to last night, when I needed keyboard input, the keyboard was transposed onto the bottom of the page. Now it covers the people I want to communicate wit, I can not see them since the keyboard is covering them up.

Is there a way to move the keyboard on Messages to the bottom, where it was before? Thanks
