Weatherproof iPads?

Are any model iPads weatherproof? Can any be used in an environment where they might get splashed with salt water? I'm looking for a tablet that can be used as an accessory chart plotter.

No iPad is weatherproof. If intending to use your iPad in adverse conditions, or where exposed to damp or or high humidity, you should use an appropriate waterproof case. OtterBox, by way of example, manufacture a range of cases suitable for such conditions.

Your local chandlery, such as West Marine, may carry suitable cases.
