Hi. I have tried multiple times to install this update by clicking on the "Update Now" button. My Mac restarts however when it starts up again the update is not installed and I am still on Catalina version 10.15.3. How do I solve this issue?

I don’t know what the issue is, but I would imagine both failures are related.
Try booting into Safe Mode and see if you can update, either way.
Try downloading the combo update and install that.

Ok that works. Starting in safe mode has allowed me to update. Thank you for your help!
The download window shows "cannot create…" and presumably some reason why it cannot create something. The error you show is the result of it not being able to create something, not the reason why it cannot create that thing. I'm not sure how you can see what it fully says, maybe hover cursor over it.
Nothing happens when I try to download the combo update. This is what I see when I click "Show downloads"
