Artwork from non-apple purchases is shown in my library(MacBook Pro,) but it doesn't sync to my iPhone XR. What can I do to fix it?

You may be asking for too much here.

Thank you. I do appreciate your response, but it's really addressing a problem I don't have. It did, however, suggest a couple of possibilities. I am familiar with the iCloud, and I may be able to resolve my issue by adding a few steps to adding and removing music from my phone.
The issue for me is simply getting the sync between the library on the MacBook to transfer all of the info to and from the iPhone in a single pass.
Really!? How so?
Note: Catalina is a macOS, not iOS. iOS is for iPhones and iPads.
So to be more correct, there is a Catalina macOS on my MacBook and an iOS on my iPhone. My issue remains, can you help?
Hey had2ask!
Id love to help find a resolution to your concern on certain resources on your computer not syncing with your iPhone.
atleast that’s what I’m understanding.
what I hear from you is the expectance of specific files (in your case, artwork) that is stored on your macbook already but are not seeing them on your iPhone?
is that correct?
if so, your expectation is totally accomplishable and I’m more than happy to provide information to head towards that direction!
Here’s info on setting up iCloud Drive on each of your devices, which ones you have. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204025
icloud drive is like an external storage device except you’re not having to carry it around with you everywhere you go.
you can see it as a central storage hub for all your devices so that you only have to save something once, and depending on the size of the file, it’ll be available to use and work on, on each of your devices. All in a matter of seconds.
So make sure you place your artwork in your iCloud Drive folder, assuming you already have it set up to use. If you don’t, follow the article above.
for Your macOS devices, which are your computers. You’ll find iCloud Drive on the left hand sidebar after launching a Finder Window. Which can be done quickly by clicking the smiley face, leftmost icon on your dock, which your dock is, by default, at the bottom of your screen.
for your iOS devices, which are your mobile devices like iPhone, iPad or iPod. You can access iCloud Drive using the Files app. I recommend going first to your home screen then swiping down from the middle of your screen, you’ll get your search bar, type in “Files”, under the Applications section, press the icon for Files to launch it. At the bottom of your screen you’ll see browse, you’ll want to press it and then press on the top left “Browse”. You’ll be given a list of available storage device, including storage from your device which is the “On Your iPhone” option you’ll see.
now that you know where iCloud Drive is, on both macOS and iOS, run down the list below to ensure all the requirements are met for a seamless experience and not having to worry about setting things up again unless it’s a new device.
one of the most important things to make sure is right is ya the Apple ID used for iCloud on your devices.
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204053 Make sure it’s the same Apple ID used on each device you want this to work on.
it’s always best to make sure your up to date on updates so check that on all devices.
For iOS, https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204204
For macOS,

once you got those few things looked at and taken care of, make sure you store your files specifically in iCloud Drive, you can create new folders if you need or want to organize your stuff and have things looking really nice, or you can just dump things in there, works great either ways hehe.
i threw a lot at you but here’s more info on what I talked about.
For iOS, here’s info on the Files app
https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT206481
For macOS, here’s info on getting iCloud Drive to integrate with your computer folders to make it less painful and easier to make sure things are stored in iCloud Drive https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT206985
Here’s FAQs on iCloud Drive, https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201104
As you start making use of iCloud Drive, make sure you have enough storage at all times so you don’t have to worry about figuring out where to save something if you start to run out of space. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201318 just in case you need to get more storage, that article covers how to get you right where you need to be.
i really hope this helps! Best of luck
