Telnet Alternative for Mac users

Telnet alternatives. I have a device I need to access and am instructed to use Telnet although I am unable to use Telnet as Apple has removed it and I'm not going to use 3rd party apps to get around it and create more problems. Does anyone have a workaround for this? How in the world are people supposed to do what Telnet allowed users of Macintosh computers to do before if Apple disallows it.

I downloaded 2 separate apps from the App Store per BobTheFisherman, but the instructions provided to me to access my controller via Mac version of Telnet don’t relate in any way to what is displayed in these apps. I cant even figure out what they want because they each use different language. My instructions are for telnet so if I download an app to use telnet I expected to see a blank space for which I could enter commands to access my controller. Instead they ask a bunch of things that make no sense to me. My instructions don’t say enter this for nickname etc., so because each app has a different layout and don’t show or explain what is needed to function for what I need it for. I just deleted them and will have someone else use my secure passwords to log into my controller using telnet and change my password afterwords and pray they are honest and don’t destroy anything or take it over for ransom. Very frustrated. I apparently need to enroll in an IT class so I can figure out why this all seems so easy for everyone else. For me its like baking a cake and I need eggs and milk and I’m being told why not just use wood and spices. You just download willow and its that easy. LOL My instructions are to enter Controller name > IPaddress then his enter and follow steps from there. These apps make no sense to me because the instructions given don’t match the UI or layout of these apps. One wants 8 points of data and the other 3 points of data and use different terminology than the instructions I have for using Telnet.

Why did you address that diatribe to me. I asked why you had a problem with third-party software. I didn't suggest applications that are not suited for telnet, directly.

Just install telnet via homebrew.

Telnet is completely insecure, so make sure you are on an isolated network connection to the host.

Or, find a <$100 winbox of any era and install Linux on it to telnet into the host.

My apologies. I meant nothing toward anybody who has responded with an attempt be be helpful. 😁 I’m frustrated with the manufacturer who sold me a $4000 controller for my aquariums and the only way to fix an issue with it is to use Telnet and they give instructions for Mac that haven’t been on the OS for years. The responses I have gotten here are more that I’ve received from the forums from people who actually use the controller. That was why I came here. I was merely trying to give perspective to my situation. My apologies again.
