IPad Pro and Seagate external storage
I’m looking at getting a 2020 IPad Pro and I’m wondering if I can connect a Seagate expansion portable drive to it?
As minimum, you would need to interconnect via a powered USB hub - as the iPad will not be able to supply sufficient power to the external drive.
Next, the drive must be correctly partitioned and formatted for the iPad to recognise it. The external storage device must have a single data partition - and be formatted as FAT32, exFAT or APFS. Microsoft proprietary formats (such as NTFS) are not supported by iPadOS.
