use thunderbolt as a extra usb?

hello, I have a 2017 MacBook Air, it has 2 USB ports and a thunderbolt port ( I get confused on thunderbolt as it now seems there are a few different versions, I would like to use an extra USB port rather than faffing about with a usb hub and was wondering if firstly a thunderbolt to usb adaptor exists and secondly if so (as I cannot seem to find one on the web or on the apple store website) can it be used to send it a video signal from a webcam or a good quality sound signal from and external sound card.

AFIK, there is none for TB2 to USB, as you have discovered on your own. The only way you can add more USB ports via TB2 is to get one of the old OWC 12-port TB2 docks. They may still have some in their sale specials. Or you can add a USB 3.0 multi-port USB hub. I have several here made by HooToo. Found on Amazon. There are others with more than four ports.
