Ok i've searched everywhere but i cant find the solution
I can sum the difference between two numbers no problem in a cell.... minus that figure against the other, i just dont want the minus character in the result as this is my profit.
Just wanting to get the difference between two figures without the minus character.

Thank you, this has solved my problem.
Its actually a profit, I was just subtracting the lower bought price against the higher sold price, but of coarse the result was minus.. I couldn't fine the function to get rid of the minus character

Well if Gross Profit minus Gross Expenses is New profit, then the sign is actually important.
so if you have income in cell A1 and Expenses in Cell A2
then
Net profit is:
=A1-A2
if that result is positive then you are happy because you made money.
If that result is negative then you did not earn as much as you spent (you are sad)
if you REALLY do not want to see the negative sign you can do this:
=ABS(A1-A2)
this is the absolute value and will always return a positive value
If you have made a profit, and the calculation result is negative, then you are probably subtracting your sale price from the cost to you of this item.
cost - sale price will return a negative value if you sold it for more than it cost you.
sale price - cost will return a positive value (your profit) if you sold it for more than it cost you.
