Relocate the Camera Plugin:

Your Camera Plugin may have been moved somehow. So, reinstall the macOS, to get it back to where it should be.

First, Create a Time Machine Backup:

Start by creating a Time Machine backup of your Mac, so that you can have something to restore your Mac from, should anything go wrong with the reinstall. Go Here for More: Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support

Then...

Reinstall the macOS:

Nothing would be lost, it's just that sometimes changes are made to your system, and then processes and system files become manipulated, technically. When reinstalling, deleted files are reinstalled, and misplaced files are moved back to where they should be. Go Here: How to reinstall macOS from macOS Recovery - Apple Support.

IMPORTANT:

Report this to Apple:

  1. Go Here: Feedback - macOS - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Select: "Peripheral/Device Support" for the "Feedback Area"
  4. Proceed from there as necessary

Hey, I tried what you said but the camera is still not working. Do you think I should reset it completely?

Just Wait for 10.15.5:

No. Just let it sit how it is. This is a well known issue, and I am sure that the techs at Apple are looking into including a fix for this in the next released update. 🙂

So, Inform Apple of This:

The only way around this at the moment is to provide Apple feedback on this. They won't get back to you directly, but the more they hear of this issue, the more they will know what to fix and how so. Inform them of how you came across it, when it began, and how you have troubleshot it thus far.

Provide the Feedback...

  1. Go Here: Feedback - macOS - Apple
  2. Select: "Bug Report" for the "Feedback Type"
  3. Select: "Software/Firmware Update" for the "Feedback Area"
  4. Proceed from there as necessary.
