Trying to upgrade to Catalina

Hi :) I'm trying to upgrade to Catalina from my current OS X 10.9.5. The installation keeps stopping saying that it failed to find incompatible apps list on software update catalog. When I went inside my applications it shows that I have about 50 applications that are not 64-Bit (Intel). I have no idea what that means except I read that that's what is causing the problem. Can anyone give me some options I have, please?

Hi 12-21,

Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.

I see that you are having an issue with upgrading to Catalina. You also would like more information about the 64-Bit message attached to 50 applications. I want to help. This article has more information about 32-bit app compatibility with macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 and later - Apple Support

As you can see from the article, starting with macOS Catalina, 32-bit apps are no longer compatible with macOS. If you have a 32-bit app, you can check with the app developer for a 64-bit version.

I hope that helps. Reach back out with any questions.

Best Regards!
