Question: Video uploads read error message "Unable to read medadata"

I am trying to upload videos from my Canon Powershot to Photos (SD Slot is damaged so I have to use USB cables from my camera) but when I do, some videos say "Unable to read medadata. The file may be corrupt" while some other videos say "(null)(File name) The operation couldn't be completed." yet all the videos have been filmed in the same format and I have done this task for years and this has never happened before. Screenshot added for error message.

The memory card is also the same as used before

If it helps, my MacbookPro is running macOS High Sierra 10.13.6

MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.13

Hi alexj324,

Thank you for the post! Being able to import your videos and photos is always important. I'm glad to see what assistance I can offer. It looks like you're seeing some errors when you try importing from a camera via USB.

You mentioned this is happening with just some videos. If you record a new video on your camera and then try to import it, does that one import as expected?

Also, are you finding these same five files show the same error each time you try importing? If you're able to import other files but these do not import on multiple attempts, it is possible there's an issue with the files as the screenshot indicates.

However, it may be helpful to try importing with the Image Capture app. You can find it in Finder > Applications > Utilities. Do you see similar errors when you use Image Capture? Transfer images in Image Capture on Mac

I hope that's helpful. Enjoy your day.
