I recently changed my pw for my login and cannot replicate the hinted words.
apple support tells me I can sign in with my apple id but when I follow step #2 of the instructions
to select the question mark it gives me the hint but no option to reset my pw by using my Apple ID.
Any suggestions?
Most likely means you did not enable Apple ID sign-in. Try this: Change or reset the password of a macOS user account - Apple Support.
Tried that and still cannot get in. The hint tells me what the pw should be but I must have typed it in with variation of the capitals, spacing etc. I've tried so many times I think I've lock myself out.
Could your KB be acting up?
Can you connect a USB KB for a test?
