How to repair photo library , it been more than couple of hours I have still not get it fixed thumbnails are not working

How large is your Photos Library? A Repair can take several hours, depending on the size of the library.

Where is your Photos Library stored? If the library is on an external volume, is the volume compatible with Photos as described here: Move your Photos library to save space on your Mac - Apple Support. ?
