Stepper controls in numbers on a Mac

I’m not sure if this is a glitch or I’m not pressing a modifier key that may be required. However I would like to control a stepper in a cell with the arrow keys on the keyboard or any other shortcut rather than clicking the mouse. Anybody got any solutions?

I do not believe there is a keyboard short cut.

All the modifier combinations are already "consumed"

<option> + arrow adds a new row (or column) in the direction of the arrow

<command> + arrow jumps to the extreme cell in the direction of the arrow

you can post feedback to Apple using the Numbers menu item "Numbers > Provide Numbers feedback"
