Why does the backup disk in my Time Machine Control Panel show "no entry"?

Hold the option key and click the TM icon in the upper right menu bar and see if you have any other possibilities> Browse Other Backup Disk.


No entry implies corruption —


You can try running First Aid on the external drive from Disk Utility...

Repair a storage device in Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support



If no success you may need to start over and erase/reformat the external disk:


f you need to create a new backup from Mac—https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/if-you-need-to-create-a-new-backup-mh34042/10.14/mac/10.14



The solution maybe to replace it.
