Apple TV and multiple Apple IDs

I have just moved in with my girlfriend and was hoping to be able to watch my iTunes library via her 4th gen Apple TV. So far, her Apple TV has been unable to see my PC.

Her Apple TV is fully uptodate and registered with her Apple ID. I’m guessing the problem is that it won’t recognise my iTunes library because it is associated with my Apple ID.

I have searched everywhere online for an answer and did find a page that mentioned going into a menu and adding my Apple ID. However, the instructions didn’t match with our Apple TV so I assume they’re old.

Home Sharing is enabled on iTunes on my PC (and it used to work at my place with my old Apple TV).

I have created multiple users on the Apple TV and we are registered with Family Sharing. I even emailed Apple Support but got a reply saying I have contacted the wrong department and to follow an enclosed link for help. Hovever, the link appears to be broken.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated, thank you 😊

Home Sharing requires the Apple Id be the same on the device sharing the library, and the device trying to access it.

The Apple ID used for the stores is not related to Home sharing.

Follow the steps here to set your Apple ID as the one being used for Home Sharing: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202190#tvos

With that set up, you should be able to see your library in the Computers App.

Outside of Home Sharing, you should be able to access your purchases from the iTunes store when your Apple ID is the active one in accounts, by going into the Movies, TV Shows and Music Apps, and selecting the Purchase tab.
