Best free Antivirus for MacBook

I need to install an anti virus software on my MacBook Pro/ Catalina. In order to work from home, it is required by my workplace.

Normally I would answer with "none." However, since your work requires that you use an AV app, I would suggest that you consider using Malwarebytes for Mac. Macs don't get viruses. Instead, they are susceptible to forms of malware or adware.

In addition, the Apple OS, already has built-in AV-like security features which your work should already know about.

p.s. I just saw IdrisSeabright's reply and I would second using ClamXAV if you absolutely have to get an AV app for work. FWIW, ClamXAV is the default AV app used by Synology NAS devices.
