I get an error message saying this Apple ID has not been set up in the apple store tap review and after tapping review it just takes me back where I was

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I see you're receiving a message to review your Apple ID, and I'd like to help.


This message happens if you're using a new to you device or changed your Apple ID for the iTunes & App Store.


Sometimes you'll need to verify your payment info independently from the download transaction. Follow the steps in this article to view your Apple ID payment methods, making sure everything is correct. Keep in mind the address shown will need to match the billing address for your payment method.

Change, add, or remove Apple ID payment methods


Once you've completed reviewing or updating, select Done and try your app download again.


If you're still not able to download an app, I'd recommend contacting Apple's iTunes Store support.
