Macbook Pro - Other storage is taking too much space

Hi!

I saw that many of you have the same issue, and that is that Other storage is taking too much space on my Macbook Pro storage.

I have 500GB Storage and Other is taking 452GB, while Apps and System are taking only 35GB.

I tried everything, using a lot of apps to clean my Macbook, tried deleting Cache folders, tried uninstalling apps, removing all my working files to my external drive, but nothing happens. Other storage is just keep feeling up.

What can I do?

I use my Macbook mostly for graphic and web design and I need to have empty space because of Photoshop and other graphic programs.

Thanks!

This statement is a little concerning " lot of apps to clean my Macbook"

if you can— get a good look at your System config. for conflicts or issues, you can download/run this trusted utility https://etrecheck.com

If you need help interpreting the report you can post it here in its entirety in the "Additional Text" box in the editing toolbar below, in your reply.

You can set its preference to "Allow full Disk Access",  with this you get a digest of issues from the last 7 days that are saved in your system.  _No_ personal information is revealed.

It is possible— Try a SafeBoot https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201262

Takes noticeable longer to get to the login screen, does a 5-15 minute disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache,  etc.  Login and

It is normal for Safe mode third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled, as you test, remove malware etc. reboot back to normal mode.

If you are stuck I would erase/reformat/initialize the parent drive, reinstall the macOS , then restore your user form a backup.

I'm still facing this problem. Right now, Other is taking 437GB of my Disk Space, which is 500GB. As you can see, basically I don't even have a lot of my files on my Macbook.

I tried OmniDisk, Disk Drill and Daisy, and couldn't solve this issue. Please help me because I can't work in Adobe programs anymore, they don't even want to save a file because of this issue.

from the Terminal.app, more detail copy and paste the command line:

File size, and finding missing GB— list the items in the home folder with the sizes, including invisible items.

sudo du -h -d 1 ~/

File size, and finding missing GB —will list the items in root with the sizes, including invisible items.

sudo du -h -d 1 /
