why isn't nest app available for macbook air?

Because its developers, i.e Google, haven't made an app for Macs.

You can access the Nest control to manage devices through the website however: https://home.nest.com

Thanks, Phil0124. I did go to the Nest site and found a work around that does not work because Nest/Google uses 32 bit app and Apple's new OS requires 64 bit. At least it works on my iphone (for now).
